			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Many of the diet and weight loss products and services in today&#8217;s marketplace appeal to a desire to be thin and attractive as quickly as possible. Some even guarantee a dramatic weight loss in a very short time, even within a week or less. The fact remains, however, that losing weight at a seemingly lightning speed can be extremely dangerous, even deadly. However, in spite of the risks and the medical profession&#8217;s overall aversion to many products and services aimed at speedy weight loss, many individuals continue to pursue fast paths to weight reduction.</p>
<p>Furthermore, while a slower and safer rate of weight loss is advocated by doctors and other professionals in the medical fields, the issue of motivation continues to influence the situation. For example, individuals may need to lose a large amount of weight in order to have needed surgery, or for health-related or other reasons. They may, however, not have the motivation they need to even start a slower weight loss diet or program, or to maintain the high degree of motivation required to lose after they get started, especially if reaching their goal weights require many long days, weeks, and months of diets and programs. In such cases, a faster rate of weight loss may offer an effective solution.</p>
<p>But while fast weight loss is not healthy, it is still very possible to lose weight at a significantly quicker rate than otherwise thought possible, if a few simple guidelines are observed: </p>
<p>#1. ACCENTUATE THE POSITIVE. Make every pound lost and even every successful daily attempt a reason to celebrate. Don&#8217;t make the mistake of accentuating the negative or ignoring the hard work and success you are making each day. Examples include: a) Getting on the scale and discovering you lost two pounds and celebrating your success with a reward, examples of which will be provided later in this article. This is instead of feeling unhappy and thinking you should have lost more, and b) Feeling very tempted and wanting to eat a candy bar one day but going out and taking a walk instead, thereby allowing you to give yourself another reward at the end of the day for your successful effort at sticking to your weight loss plan, whatever it may be. Both of these examples may seem like small achievements that you don&#8217;t think much of rewarding. However, it is just such opportunities to appreciate and affirm your seemingly small accomplishments that will allow you to not only continue but go on to even larger successes.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I have lost 60 pounds in the last 2 years by increasing the fiber and decreasing the sugar in my diet.  I know that doesn&#8217;t seem like a huge feat&#8230;but I know that because I changed things slowly, I am more likely to stay with my program and keep the weight off.  I have also eliminated prepared or boxed meals, canned vegetables and fruits.  The only canned products that I have in my cupboard are hard beans and tomato sauce, and I don&#8217;t use margarine.  </p>
<p>The key to loosing the weight and keeping it off is to slowly make life style changes.  I slowly added more fiber and decreased preservatives and sugar.  I didn&#8217;t feel like I was depriving myself that way.  I have also experimented with different cooking methods in order to maximize the flavor in the foods that I cook so that I don&#8217;t end up eating the same thing all of the time. I have learned that if I have all of my herbs, fresh veggies and fruits ready to eat, I&#8217;m more likely to reach for them instead of running to the corner market for a quick sugar fix. </p>
<p>Portion control is also very important.  If you get on-line, you can find sites that will tell you what is considered the ideal amount in a single serving of foods in the food pyramid, and how many servings you should have of each group.  And remember, it&#8217;s actually better to eat 5 to 6 small meals since this will improve your metabolism and help you burn more calories.</p>

<p>The study involved children between twelve and eighteen years old, with a body mass index (BMI) greater than ninety-five percent of their peers.</p>
<p>The studyâ€™s subjects followed a diet with up to fifty grams of carbohydrates per day. They were supervised by their dietician and pediatrician during the six month duration of the study.</p>
<p>The teenagers lost up to fifty-three pounds, their body mass index decreased, and their self-esteem was improved. The participants also reported a significant decrease of the daily calorie intake, from 2,400 to 1,153.</p>
<p>Almost eighty-four percent of the teenagers who finished the study lost weight, said Dr. Robert Siegel, lead author of the study. Their mean weight decreased from 206 pounds to 195 pounds.</p>
<p>Twenty percent of the American children are considered overweight or obese. Only nine percent of the American teenagers eat the recommended portions of a food product, according to a report at the Pediatric Academic Society.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Whether summertime is approaching or we simply want to look and feel good, we all consider getting on a diet to help us lose weight. While we wish that just simply eating different foods will aid us in this quest, exercise is also a vital role.</p>
<p>The first thing that needs to be done is set up a routine, or a ritual. Sticking to a set guideline will ensure success.</p>
<p>What you eat is going to the most important part of any diet. How much you eat isn&#8217;t as important as WHAT you eat.</p>
<p>Choose foods that are low in fat and carbohydrates.</p>
<p>Some Small Tips</p>
<p>Stay away from red meats and only eat lean meats. Avoid breads and other carbohydrates and incorporate more fruits and vegetables. This doesn&#8217;t mean you have to completely swear them off altogether, just be careful of how much of these items you eat.</p>
<p>A diet plan that would be the most successful would be one that looks like this:</p>
<p>Breakfast</p>
<p>You can still have your coffee but try to limit it to no more than two cups. Choose something like an orange or an apple instead of pancakes and sausage or a bagel. This will cut your calorie intake for the day instantly.</p>
<p>Mid-Morning Snack</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t go for something fattening. Instead bring along to work a yogurt. There are many different flavors that you can choose from, so it will rarely get boring.</p>
<p>Lunch</p>
<p>Chicken Caesar Salad is the way to go. You get your protein and your vegetables as well. You don&#8217;t have to stick to just a Caesar salad, you can add any vegetables you would like, even fruits. A small amount of cheese is okay as well. But be careful about the amounts of cheese and dressing you are using. Portion control is key.</p>
<p>Mid-Afternoon Snack</p>
<p>Again choose something like a yogurt or a fruit. This will tie you over until dinner and you won&#8217;t feel bloated.</p>
<p>Dinner</p>
<p>Along the same lines as the Chicken Caesar Salad, choose something that will not pack calories or carbohydrates. Something like two Tuna Fish Sandwiches will do. You don&#8217;t have to have plain tuna. You can add anything to it such as celery or onion and lettuce. A little cheese here won&#8217;t hurt anything and neither will mayonnaise if you don&#8217;t like Miracle Whip.</p>
<p>During the day, the one thing that should be avoided when it comes to beverages is anything with a lot of sugar, like soda. Drink as much water as possible, and try to incorporate some Milk.</p>
<p>Exercise is the next part that is going to tie everything in. You don&#8217;t have to go out on a muscle building mission and work out all hours of the day. A simple one hour work out on the elliptical three to four times a week will do. If you want, you can even go a little further, but not much more is needed.</p>
<p>It may not seem like much to do, but can be tricky for those who like their junk food. My husband, on this same diet, lost 50 pounds in 4 weeks and was not skinny, but definitely looked a lot healthier and toned.</p>
<p>You don&#8217;t have to give up everything to stay on a diet. There is always room to have a piece of cake here, or ice cream there; but don&#8217;t overdo it. It might take time to get used to, but once you have achieved your weight loss goal in such a short amount of time, you will be glad you stuck with it.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Our weight weighs heavily on our minds, and it should. Approximately 127 million adults in the U.S. are overweight, 60 million obese, and 9 million severely obese says the American Obesity Association. That means two-thirds of Americans are overweight and one-third are obese. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has found that obesity is responsible for more than 325,000 deaths annually&#8230;that&#8217;s more than 100 9/11&#8217;s every year. The National Institutes of Health estimates obesity costs this country between $75 and $125 billion every year. Obesity is the number one risk factor for many chronic diseases-heart disease, diabetes, and arthritis to name a few.</p>
<p>Americans are not overweight for lack of interest or effort. Weight loss is a multi-billion dollar industry, so Americans are certainly trying. With as much money as we spend on weight loss, why is the United States the most obese nation on Earth?</p>
<p>I wish there was a simple program or public policy that we could implement that would wipe out our weight problems; however, because everyone has their own unique body chemistry, the only way to really impact weight (and other chronic health issues) is for an individual to know:</p>
<p>* about his/her own body;</p>
<p>* what causes his/her body to become imbalanced; and</p>
<p>* what he/she can do to re-balance their body.</p>
<p>Here are the factors that I believe are key to helping you reduce or eliminate your weight problems:</p>
<p>1. Poor food choices &#8211; whether you know it or not, our food supply has degraded massively over the last 50 years or so. While we have supermarkets and restaurants that are filled with food, the quality of that food has plummeted. I&#8217;m talking about the amount of food processing and the increasing use of additives, preservatives, sweeteners and colorings.</p>
<p>Tips:</p>
<p>* Start reading food labels and understanding ingredients. A simple internet search on an ingredient can tell you if you should be ingesting it or not.</p>
<p>* Avoid foods that are irradiated, as lots of produce these days is exposed to a small amount of radiation to give it a longer shelf life. Avoid foods containing colorings, preservatives and excessive sugars like high fructose corn syrup.</p>
<p>* Avoid or eliminate foods that are highly processed like breakfast cereals, potato and corn chips (and the like), processed meats (processed deli meats, hot dogs and &#8220;pressed&#8221; meat like chicken &#8220;nuggets&#8221; and meat &#8220;patties&#8221;).</p>
<p>* Eliminate all microwaved food and beverages. Microwave ovens may be deemed safe to stand in front of and watch the food turn, but what it&#8217;s turning into is no longer food (read my book for more information on microwaves and how they damage the nutrients in your food). You may want to ask your waiter/waitress if any part of the meal you are ordering will be microwaved; if it is, make another selection!</p>
<p>2. Portion control &#8211; as a society, we live by the rule that more is better. We often gauge a restaurant by the size of the portions they offer. Need I mention the &#8220;all you can eat&#8221; buffets? Did you know that a large soda now at most fast food restaurants is a full quart (32 oz.)? Even worse, many of the soda fountains at convenience stores have the 64 oz. soda cups; for those of you who are counting, that&#8217;s a half-gallon of soda full of sugars that will spike blood sugar and imbalance your body chemistry! The Bio-Logikal Diet recommends whole, natural, unprocessed foods.</p>
<p>Knowing how much fuel you need (caloric requirement) is critical. The number of calories a person needs is determined by the Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR). This number is the number of calories one would need to consume in a day to maintain his/her current body weight. Caloric need, activity/exercise level and individual health goals (i.e. weight loss) are all considered as part of The Bio-Logikal Diet.</p>
<p>3. Metabolism &#8211; Just as there are different kinds of gasoline, so too are there different types of fuels (foods) for the body, and everyone requires a unique blend. Fast metabolizers need to eat foods that burn more slowly (fats, meats and complex starches) while slow metabolizers must have foods that burn faster (fruits, grains and simple starches). Almost all metabolizers need a reasonable amount of vegetables in their diet. Most people have a good metabolism, but they do not know their metabolic type. When we do not eat for our metabolic type our metabolism is stunted, causing weight gain, fatigue and other symptoms. <p>So in lieu of your next successful dieting effort, Iâ€™ve included a loose plan that will work weight loss wonders if you follow it.</p>
<p>5-step diet weight loss formula</p>
<p>One: Immediately increase your water intake to 12 cups a day. More if you can swing it, but at least 12 cups. Some people claim they donâ€™t like the taste of water. No problem. Several companies now have flavored water products on the market. Find one you like and go with it.</p>
<p>Two: Include a source of protein with every meal you eat. Never eat a meal without some type of quality protein. Be it chicken, tuna, turkey, or even lean beef. Most of those fads quickly die out because they simply don&#8217;t produce results.  Is Lipozene and different?  Let&#8217;s find out.  Here is the skinny on Lipozene.</p>
<p>Lipozene is a dietary supplement sold by The Obesity Research Institute.  Glucomannan is the active ingredient in Lipozene. Other names for Glucomannan include: Glucomanna, Konjac, Konjac Fiber and Manna.  Glucomannan is a natural soluble fiber.  It boasts the highest molecular weight and strongest viscosity among any dietary fiber known in science.  It is often used as a dietary supplement for those with conditions such as: diabetes, hypoglycemia, hypertension, high cholesterol and constipation.  It is supposed to give you a feeling of &#8220;being full&#8221; therefore making you not want to eat.  Side effects are limited but can occur.  Side effects include: trouble breathing, tightness in chest or throat, chest pain, rash, hives, itchy or swollen skin, upset stomach, vomiting, diarrhea, flatulence.  </p>
<p>In a recent clinical study participants taking Lipozene only lost 3 pounds over an 8 week period.  You can lose more weight than that dieting and exercising.  With their study proving such an insignificant amount of weight loss the FDA slapped them with some pretty heavy fines.  There are currently several lawsuits pending against the company.  TV commercials for Lipozene can be seen after 8pm on Comedy Central.  How&#8217;s that for irony?  I don&#8217;t know about you but I&#8217;ll stick with what&#8217;s proven to work: good old-fashioned diet and exercise.  Plus it&#8217;ll save you $29.95 plus S&#038;H, which you can use to buy a pair of sneakers, fruits and vegetables.</p>

difference between lean and obese. It&#8217;s the natural weight loss<br />
diet.</p>
<p>My friend likes to relate a story from time to time about when<br />
he was just a lad. His grandfather called him &#8220;Worm&#8221;, because he<br />
fidgeted so much. And between you and me, it can get rather<br />
annoying.</p>
<p>But he had the right idea, even if it wasn&#8217;t intentional. He&#8217;s<br />
5&#8242;8&#8243; tall and weighs around 145 lbs.</p>
<p>To my knowledge, he doesn&#8217;t work out, jog, or go to the gym. He<br />
fidgets. When we visit, I watch him twist and turn, tap his feet<br />
in the air, get up and down from the chair and walk around. It&#8217;s<br />
enough to drive you crazy, but his slim physique speaks volumes.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve always believed that fidgeting is a result of a fast<br />
metabolism, so he naturally burns more calories, producing<br />
natural weight loss. But I also believe that fidgeting can be<br />
learned. Of course that&#8217;s all we need, more people to drive us<br />
crazy!</p>
<p>Now there&#8217;s a study to confirm what I&#8217;ve always believed. A<br />
detailed study conducted of mundane bodily movements found that<br />
obese people tend to be much less fidgety than lean people and<br />
spend at least two hours more each day just sitting still. The<br />
extra motion by lean people is enough to burn about 350 extra<br />
calories a day, which could add up to 10 to 20 pounds a year.</p>
<p>&#8220;There are these absolutely staggering differences between<br />
people who are lean and people who are obese,&#8221; said James Levine<br />
of the Mayo Clinic, who led the research. &#8220;The amount of this<br />
low-grade activity is so substantial that it could, in and of<br />
itself, account for obesity quite easily.&#8221;</p>
<p>Here are some things you could try.</p>
<p>* When a commercial come on TV, get up and stretch or better<br />
yet, move around. Just avoid the kitchen.</p>
<p>* Wriggle your toes and your fingers whenever you can. This will<br />
also tell you how sore they are and if their condition is so<br />
bad, just think of the rest of your body.</p>
<p>* Tap your feet in the air. Think of an upbeat song and tap<br />
along. This helps get your blood flowing.</p>
<p>* Do things like fetching, turning things off and on by<br />
yourself. Often when we come back tired from work, we tend to<br />
get others to do simple chores for us. These things are no big<br />
deal. They are things that we can very well do for our selves<br />
but we don&#8217;t.</p>
<p>* When talking on the phone, get up and pace. Just vary your<br />
walking area. You don&#8217;t want to wear a path in your carpet.</p>
<p>* Try breathing exercises. You might be surprised to know that<br />
breathing exercises too can lead to weight loss. If you are<br />
doing the breathing exercises properly, you will find that you<br />
can exert a lot of pressure on the muscles around the mid<br />
section. You can feel a tightening of these muscles each time<br />
you breathe in or breathe out. So go ahead and breathe properly,<br />
it is good for you.</p>
<p>* Do not slouch in your chair, but try to maintain an erect<br />
posture with your tummy tucked in. Slouching is a very bad<br />
habit. Not only is it bad for your back but it also gives you a<br />
very flabby figure. It is your way of saying yes to a<br />
comfortable, weight-gaining pose. Make it a point to always sit<br />
as erect as you can. It is also a terrific way to ward off back<br />
problems.</p>
<p>Fidgeting isn&#8217;t a cure-all for obesity, but if you&#8217;re physically<br />
unable or just too plain lazy to eat right and workout, it&#8217;s a<br />
great start.</p>

<p>    * Lack of discipline (Because they know what to do but can not stick to the program)</p>
<p>    * They do not understand their addiction to food and what is causing it (physiological, chemical, or medical)</p>
<p>    * Refuse to see the health problems being caused by being overweight ( this is realized after it is to late)</p>
<p>    * Most Fat people are great at justifying or making excuses for their Fatness (I can lose weight tomorrow. It does not interfere with life..)</p>
<p>This last and biggest thing missing is support from the people who love you and are in your life every day.  If they have no weight problem, they do not understand what you are living with. If they are fat and are not worried about weight loss, your success undermines their life choices. These two reasons are why most people fail with their weight loss programs. Everyone needs support at reaching goals in their lives.  It is the very rare person who can do it alone.</p>
<p>People sharing like minded experiences is the best support group for you to reach the goals you set. They might be where you are going.  If someone has a road map showing the hazards along the way, why not use it? If they can show you an easier way to do something, why not do it?   If they can take something that is not working for you and show you how to make it work, is that not better than setting up another excuse to fail.</p>
<p>Weight loss is a battle everyday  for the rest of you life. It does not matter if you are  overweight by  10 pounds or 410 pounds.
