Crash dieting as the term itself indicates is a diet that ultimately causes the human body to crash. This will ultimately result in other severe health problems which could in the long run be fatal. No doubt the intention is to burn all the built up and unnecessary fat that the body has collected, but once proper eating habits start up again the lost weight will again accumulate.

Keep it healthy: losing weight is not a bad thing but there is no harm in doing it in a healthy manner. Here is where the famous catch phrase “you are what you eat” comes in. The amount you weight has a lot to do with what you eat and when you eat it. When trying to loose weight its not reduced quantity rather increased quality that truly matters. It’s always a good idea to consult your physician; your physician knows your body and knows what your body needs and would there fore be able to best direct you regarding what type of diet you should go on.

While dieting keep in mind that it’s not how little you eat rather what you eat and what you don’t eat that matters. Keeping off sweet snacks and sticking to food that contains low carbohydrates is always a good idea. Protein diets are a good way to start as proteins are necessary for the smooth functioning and over all rate of metabolism in the body. Vegetable snacks such as carrot sticks through the day are far better than candy bars or cookies. Eating habits: evaluate your eating habits. Be strict with yourself and set up scheduled meal times. Eating at all odd hours of the day is the number one cause of weight gain as it disrupts the normal metabolism and food break down process in the stomach and body overall.
